The Hut vineyards were planted in 1990 and 1999 on the Moonambel valley floor, 4 kms from the Dalwhinnie vineyard (we call it our Forest Hut vineyard). All the vineyards are owned and managed by Dalwhinnie and are set up to produce exceptional grapes using 100% estate grown fruit. The climate is 3-4 degrees cooler than Dalwhinnie all year round. The grapes are harvested approximately 3 weeks later than Dalwhinnie. 2010 was a vintage year 10/10.

Colour:
Dark cherry red, shiny and bright with great clarity.

Bouquet:
A spicy-herb note with rhubarb fruit and earth complete a beautiful perfume.

Palate:
Medium weight, the attack is tight and savoury with fresh juicy cherry/rhubarb fruit and a pleasant dry finish. Almost Pinot Noir like in its structure.

Winemaker's Comment:
A great example of a medium bodied elegant Pyrenees Shiraz. Enjoy now or over the next couple of years.
